The drone sector is one of the industries with a greater present and an even greater future. But it is also very adaptable, with an endless number of potential applications such as drones to check the sewersdrones to control wild animals or Halloween drones. In fact, there is only one limit for what an unmanned aerial vehicle can do, and that is human imagination. We are pretty sure that some of the following nine possible uses for drones developed by AIRK will surprise you.

1. Sea rescue drones

People rescue, whether by sea or by land, allows a great number of different uses for drones. Regarding sea rescues, something as simple as attaching a float to the device can save lives without putting in danger other human lives. It might surely not be a bad idea that every cruise or large ship add to their features one or two floating waterproof drones.

2. Drones to check the sewers

Sewer control drone

Also for security reasons, scanning the state of the city sewage, monitoring the air and water quality, or even the subterranean walls condition, and quickly returning to the surface, is something that drones can perfectly do. It is just a question of time that the suffering workers that perform this kind of tasks nowadays, will be replaced by drone piloting and remote inspections.

3. Scarecrow drones

On a different note, in order to avoid the damages caused by some bird species, such as pigeons or gulls, a remote-controlled drone can be a quite simple and effective solution: it is simpler to “maintain” than the usual hawk, and it is also repelling for birds. It could even be used on airports: a drone is always easier to control than a living creature.

4. Drones for wild animal control

Without leaving the animal kingdom, the control of bigger beasts needs something more that the mere presence of a drone to be effective. Integrating a blowpipe (of course, loaded with non-lethal substances) can be a good option in order to control aggressive beasts that can enter the cities, such as wild boars or wolves in Spain, bigger mammals in Africa, Asia or America, or, why not, kangaroos in Australia.

5. Speak it out load: drones with a megaphone

Again, voice amplification is a phenomenon with multiple uses if combined with drones. If we add a megaphone to the device, it can be very useful in police tasks, in order to disperse, control or inform the masses, to reach them safely, or even to negotiate with kidnappers and hostage-takers.

6. Drones for decoration purposes

Another playful use: why not putting your drone in disguise? In celebrations such as Halloween or Christmas, a drone dressed up as a skull, a ghost, a Halloween pumpkin or a Christmas tree can bring a great original –and modern– touch to our environment.

7. Band of drones: put on some music!

This is another acoustic aspect: if you add a speaker, the use of the drone can also be playful: for instance, to listen to music, giving a new acoustic dimension in large events. Indeed, what party would not want to have some good, but also mobile, flying and customizable music?

8. Drones for airsoft games

Gamers will surely know titles such as Call of Duty, Battlefield, or other tactical shooters, in which the UAV figure is present. In airsoft games, a drone is useful not only to check the enemy positions at one point, but also to attack by air equipped with 40mm grenades. That said, you better keep in mind the game terms of use if you want to avoid being torn down!

9. Drone with a 360º camera

Finally, adding a camera is the most obvious application for a drone. However, if you choose to carry the device with a 360º camera, the resulting photographs and videos, apart from aerial, will be spectacular as hell. From AIRK we recommend to use professional cameras, such as Insta 360 Pro, or any high definition compact 360 camera.

All of these uses are a reality tested by AIRK, thanks to the customization and adaptation possibilities of the AIRK FireClouds drones family. Some of these models will be seen at the next edition of the Mobile World Congress, which will take place in Barcelona next February 26- March 1, and also at the Global Robot Expo, next April 19-20. We hope to see you there!
